Christmas Day 2025

We have celebrated Christmas for how many generations. We have listened to how many homilies. And yet, we have not received it in full. The reason why God came to the gentiles is because the Jews failed. Today, we Christians are the same. We have failed and not ptacticed our faith. The message of Christmas has not changed. The Psalm reading today is a call to worship. But do we see the people worshipping? Are we giving God the honor that is due to Him? It appears that humanity has taken over. The Psalm Reading says, sing to the Lord a new song. But are we singing a new song or are we more affected by the world. A new song may not really be a new melody. Our lives should be a new song. We should be expressing our love and thanksgiving for what He has done. God’s mercy is greater than all our failures.

Part of God’s Plan is shown to us at Christmas. Salvation was given to all men. In 2nd Timothy, it says we have been granted everything. But we listen to the world more. The enemy is very cunning. He tries to implant in us the things which are wrong to make them look like they are right.

In Christmas, we are memorializing Christ’s birth. We would like to look at Him as a baby. But He is not a baby anymore. He lived through life as man went through, to identify with us. Even as a baby, his life was already being threatened. Joseph had to take Him to Egypt. After that, instead of settling down in Bethlehem, they had to go to Nazareth, an unpopular place. When He was born, His beginnings were very humble because there was no room for Him at the Inn and He was born in a lowly manger. The Nativity scene should be the most important scene in Christmas. All throughout His life, He was showing us how to live in simplicity. He did not teach in the temple. He taught in the wilderness. He was willing to become that which was much less than He was. Christ came to take us out of darkness and bring us into the light. Romans 1:5 “through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of His name.” To bring about faith, we need to let God speak to us and should not let our minds receive what the enemy is telling us. We must listen carefully to the Gospel, the Good News. Christ is the Word, and we must choose life. We must celebrate Christ, Christ in us the Hope of Glory. When the mind and the heart are in unison, all things are possible. God has set us free. We need to put our faith and confidence in Him.
