Christmas is a season that should bring great joy, festivities and thanksgiving. Christ is life. Without Christ, there is no life. Christmas gives us new life. In itself, a candle is useless. It only becomes useful when it is lighted. Lighted candles bring ambience to an event. Like candles, we have no value if we have no life. Life that comes from within. Candles are not just for decoration – they speak a message to us when they are lighted.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” With us human beings, when we want to start doing something, we start with a thought, and then it becomes a word. When God spoke, “let there be light,” light came forth. This is how powerful the Word is, The Word brought life to man. God’s plan from the beginning was for the Word to be made flesh. When God speaks, things happen. When God spoke to the demons, they fled. God has given us the ability to speak forth His words. Words have power and great value. God brought into existence the things which were spoken to what they are today. We can either accept or reject the Word.

Proverbs 8:22 “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His work, the first of His acts of old.”

Hebrews 1: 2 But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also He made the universe.

John 1: 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of all mankind.

God is not only the one True God. He is the living God. He created a world that was meant for blessing and provisions not for failure and despair. Sin may have taken it away, but Christ brought it back for us. God put in every man, His spirit to know Him. Many may not be aware of this, but it’s there. God created everything in perfection. What He has done is perfect. He has given us the total sum of His fullness, if only we believe and accept this.

God’s plan was already set in place even before creation, that He would give us His Son. In the beginning was the Word. Nothing exists that did not come from Him.
