John 14:23-29

We see the heart of God, His love, His compassion to man. Christ knew His mission on earth. When Satan deceived man, sin took over. But Christ came to destroy the works of the devil. God gave man dominion. Easter is all about restoration. Man failed, man had to restore. That’s why Christ came in the flesh and paid the penalty for us. John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. This means that we do the task, we do not allow our hearts to be troubled. We must exercise our faith and trust in God. Fear is not of God. We should not accept the fear. “If anyone loves me, He will be with God. He who does not love me does not keep my commandments. If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Love is the root, obedience is the fruit.

Love is an action. It is not a thought. It is not an idea. “I will send the Holy Spirit who will teach you all things.” We must learn to listen to the Holy Spirit. We should not be listening to other voices. Unfortunately, many of us want to listen to noise the minute we wake up.We turn on the radio or television immediately. The Holy Spirit works and walks together with Christ. They work in unity. God is love. He forgives, loves beyond our comprehension. In our failures, He still loves us. The Holy Spirit workd hand in hand with Christ. There is no end to learning. Everyday we learn new things. The more we walk with Him, the more we will know about Him. The Holy Spirit will constantly remind us of what Jesus can do. He will not fail us. The Holy Spirit is tutoring us and we need to give time to learn from Him. As we walk with Him we begin to see things we’ve never seen before.
Isaiah 59:21 “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever,” says the LORD. The Holy Spirit will speak through us at the right moment. 1 John 2:5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

The Holy Spirit is our advocate, our Paraclete. Like a lawyer, He will defend us. The Holy Spirit reminds us that we have been healed. Christ tells His disciples that He was going to give everything to them through the Holy Spirit. He will give us peace. Not a refusal to accept things, not to run away, not to hide. But a peace that is a conquest. God wants us to put on the peace of conquest like a soldier. If we have God’s peace, we will not be shaken. God’s criteria for us is that we have peace. “I am only with you for a while. I am going away. If you love me, you will rejoice. I will go to the Father.” In the death of a loved one for instance, we should be thankful that this person is going to meet His maker. There will be feelings of sadness but we should have the joy that he is going back to the Father.

Easter is more than just the resurrection. Easter is all about restoration. Our loved ones in heaven are all cheering for us. When we feel alone we are not really alone. If we will listen to Him, we will understand. Let not our hearts be troubled.
